I lost my sister Aimee Kuahine to breast cancer just after her 40th birthday. My dear work mates Millie and Verna have fought it; Millie successfully, Verna is on her second battle.
My pure Aloha Aunty Mary Ann was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in July; we pray that surgery and radiation will kick it in the teeth.
And now, my beautiful friend Dee from college; just one year older than me…surgery and chemo last year. This year it metastasized; she will be fighting this battle again. Dee has always inspired me with her joie de vivre, her generosity, her grace…I am in awe of her positive attitude, her ability to truly walk the path of Christ, and her irrepressible good spirit. Leveraging the inspiring words of Sister Thea Bowman, Dee’s rallying cry is “Let me live until I die”. She is living her best life and I love her.
Will you please join me in fighting for all these beautiful women by making a donation today?
